What’s a great week-long tropical vacation for a good “adventure”?
My boyfriend and I want to go away for a week this March, preferably somewhere tropical. We really want an “adventure” though. Sitting on a beautiful beach would be great, but we also want to really SEE the place we’re going to… you know, explore a rainforest, hike a mountain, go rafting, I don’t know… something like that. Any suggestions?

Well, you have so many choices and it all depends on your budget.
You can go to Ecuador and see the equator and travel around the country on horseback through the beautiful rolling hills.
You can go to Australia and party in the city and take tours of the Outback.
You don’t want to explore the rainforest. It is dangerous and hot with bugs and crap but if you REALLY want to check it out…you don’t.
Hike the Incan Trail in Peru and travel the countryside learning about the culture of Peru
Go snorkeling in Nicaragua on the Corn Islands. The water is sooo clear! Or even go surfing in the San Juan del Sur — Surfers paradise!
View the Sri Siva-Subramaniya temple in Fiji and go snorkeling to see the famous blue starfish. Then go see the Sawa-i-Lau Caves (where Blue Lagoon was filmed) and enjoy the nightlife at Beachcomber Island.
I am starting to sound like a brochure…oh dear…
When in doubt, go to the Bahamas, its nice.
Or try South Africa, it is so full of culture and it is very safe. I had a South African visit with my family and he was really cool (besides the fact he thought a woman’s place was in the kitchen…I think I wanted to kill him at that point but I held my peace). Go on safaris (Eastern Cape) and learn about Nelson Mandela (the first president of south africa) and where he lived. The Krugersdorp Botanical Gardens are beautiful as well. Take a hike at the Ben Lavin Nature Reserve, canoe down the Limpopo River and watch the crocodiles pass you by
. Go river rafting down the Orange river. Visit Johannesburg and Cape Town. They are awesome!! Go shark cage diving in Gans Baai/Bay or Mossel Baai/Bay!
