    So far, there have been none. An American lady, Mae Jamison, (who happened to be black) spent eight days in space on the Endeavor in 1992….however, she was most definitely NOT an African any more than John F. Kennedy was an Irishman. She however, did do a stint in Africa in the Peace Corps for a short time.

    And she was part of the crew as a physician…they paid her, not the other way around.
