Some resorts will also include airfare in the package as well as various tours and amenities. So if you are leaning towards a resort contact them as soon as possible.

Searching the internet you can find local hot spots, and historical landmarks. Some of these areas offer hotel packages, but you can also find great deals by doing your own research. You can also go to your local library to learn more about areas you would like to visit. The information is readily available to any person who cares to look for it.

When considering what to do for entertainment , check out the local culture. You may be surprised to find often there are a variety of things that are inexpensive or even free. Having a budget set aside for entertainment will also ensure that you will have enough funds to carry you through your entire vacation.

Whenever you travel to a foreign country it is wise to let your friends or family know your exact destination along with details of stops and places you plan to visit on the way. This is important so they may contact you in an emergency but also to know where to look for you should you have any difficulties. Make sure to leave a copy of your passport and important documents behind with a friend or relative in case you should misplace your originals while out of the country.

If you are fortunate enough to have seven days in New York City, you will find this just enough time to see the most popular visitor attractions. Probably one of the first stops will be the Empire State Building and while it may be on every tourists list, that doesn’t mean it is not worth it, especially the view from the top.

However, it is the Rockefeller Center that will provide superior views (weather providing) from the top at around 820 feet tall. If you want to see The Statue of Liberty but are short on time then have the ferry drop you at Ellis Island (the former immigration center) where the view is great.

The Staten Island ferry can still be traveled on without cost and can offer excellent photo opportunities of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty; dropping off at the terminal is the best place because it is where there are some good street artists.

No trip to New York would be complete now without a visit to where the World Trade Center Towers once stood not that long ago. It is true to say that the location does affect people emotionally and until you are there, it is hard to imagine just how much space was taken up by the Twin Towers.

For those who love to shop there is of course the famous Tiffany’s and Bindel plus some fantastic old discount warehouses worth a look down on the Lower East Side. Bloomingdales is another famous store (for the wealthy) to look around but don’t forget the original Macys.

An excellent tourist location is the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum which is likely to be closed until the end of 2008; this attraction is highly recommended and worth putting on your list of places to visit. There is a great deal there with the focus on the USS Intrepid, a Second World War aircraft carrier ; Concorde is also there and many other interesting vessels, including a submarine. The New York City Police Museum is worth an hour if you’re down that way; it’s free to enter but a five dollar donation is recommended to help with its upkeep; it contains a great deal of information about the World famous Police Department; you can buy souvenirs too.

Another museum is the Lower East Side Tenement Museum which focuses on the appalling conditions experienced by the immigrants back in 1864. If Central Park is on your list of places to see then there is another museum aptly named the City of New York Museum which has exhibitions exploring the city’s past, its present and the future. The museum is in a beautiful building which is free to enter but a nine dollar donation is normally given with plenty of souvenirs available.

For such a large vibrant city, seven days in New York should be viewed as minimum if most of the major attractions are to be seen comfortably and not as part of a ‘whistle stop’ tour.

For people generally looking for an all inclusive vacation then the first place that comes to mind is the Caribbean. No-one has yet figured out why all inclusive Caribbean vacations are so popular but, the number of tourists arranging this type of break increases every year. Some attribute the popularity of the Caribbean islands to the predominance of this type of vacation; but there is no evidence however, that their popularity has grown specifically because of this move.

The probability is that for many people, the fact that an all inclusive Caribbean Vacation means that they can easily budget for costs; which makes them particularly attractive for families on a budget. Each particular type of vacation caters to a different need since some people may have needs in a specific area that other travelers may not have. An example of that could be when people are visiting family and friends during their Caribbean vacation; there is no reason to book anything but the flight as they will have accommodation and meals already arranged with their family.

In all likelihood, the people going to the islands will book an all inclusive Caribbean vacation to make the trip less expensive than arranging it in any other way. Of course owing to the number of bookings made, it is usually less expensive to book through a tour operator than it is to arrange the vacation independently. Although many independent travelers would never consider arranging a ‘package’ vacation like this. Many people are still unsure of what to expect from an all inclusive vacation even though they have now been around for a good many years.

The only constant with every vacation booked is that the accommodation is included as part of the price. For example, all food, even snacks are part of the arrangement with this type of vacation; some deals only include a breakfast each day. It is strange how many people still believe if they have booked a full board package that it actually means all inclusive!

In actual fact the difference between a full board vacation (three meals a day) and an all inclusive Caribbean vacation is quite great because the latter will also provide all food, snacks, tea, coffee, soft drinks and locally produced alcohol. Many vacation packages may include vouchers or discounts for activities that visitors can participate in; however, the visitor will still need to pay for those activities at some point, although it may not be at the full price. Many all inclusive Caribbean vacations will include other recreational activities; in fact you will be hard pushed to find events and situations where you will need money, which means you are able to enjoy more without the worry of additional cost.
