Does anyone know where I can get a permit for campfires in Germany?

I currently live in Germany and I'm planning a 3 day hiking trip and I know about the no open fires in Germany but I was told I can get a permit for it. Any help?

No permit needed.

What were the reasons that caused Hungary to experience one of the world's worst hyperinflation?

The "Rathaus" in charge of the are where you are going.
Often there are places to do grill parties where there are prepared places to have a fire – and where you could always make one without having a permit.

I'm German, and I never asked for a permit. Please excuse? You just make a small campfire with all the security measures (like a ring of stones around the fire, enough water to extinguish it, and not making a fire when the probability of forest fires is above "3", which is "likely" or "very likely", and never ever make amidst a forest, as pines can burn like hell), then there's no problem. Me and my friends always made our campfires near some small lakes ("Weiher" in German), and the one time I remember the police turned up, they searched us for marijuana, but didn't care about the fire.

The permit you may mean is for huge bonfires like they're lighted at midsummer's eve. They are really huge, and you need a permit, and special precautions must be taken, like fireworkers aroubnd and such. But these are usually bigger festivals. There is a rule against small peronal campfires, I know, but it's nothing you really have to mind. Just hide your place well, so the police won't see.

Best thing to do would be to ask the Förster at the local Forsthaus (forest service).

I always made a fire where and when I wanted. But last summer the Förster came by and wrote down my personal information and forbid me to do it again in this area (where I live). So it depends on if it is a protected natural area. There are special areas where you are allowed to make fires.

The next problem is collecting wood from the forest which can be considered as theft. Never heard of someone getting fined for that. But they seem to use this threat more often to prevent people from doing it. Most likely because a lot of young people were ripping off branches of living trees.
The mistakes of a few makes it harder for all the others. ;-)

But I still have to find out myself how to get info where those places are (beside the Förster).
