What are the benefits of national parks?

I wanted to know if their are any certain reasons as to why we preserve national parks, other than the fact that they are beautiful and relaxing. Does anyone have any ideas?

If we didn't have national parks, man would be allowed to build over ALL the land.

If man built building ALL over the land, there would be no more room for nature. No room for trees, no room for animals, just a bunch of buildings all over the place.

With no trees… and no animals? Well…. we'd all die.

We need national parks for survival, nature is an integral part of our lives, and we need to preserve as much as it as possible in order to keep the cycle of life flowing.

They are tools for the preservation of wilderness areas for sightseeing and recreation. They also are preserves for animals that otherwise might not have an environment to exist in.

Certain areas have to be protected, especially from companies wanting to build. I don't want to see a skyscraper or parking lot everywhere I turn. We have to leave some of the earth's natural beauty it's one thing people in inner-cities miss the most…natural surroundings. Aside from its beautiful sight, national parks are protected places where endangered and other animals are allowed to live ( so as to exist on their own)under the protection of government and private institutions, filters man made pollution, income generating where everybody enjoys the benefits.

Was is the reason why people pay to go on vacation away from cities on the first place ?
